(by Janneke de Boer & Menno Terpstra)
The sun sinks beneath the horizon
Ready to leave me ..and all....
All will fall into silence
Becoming just a memory
I’m wrapped in a vaporous cloud
Watching over this darkening world
How can I forgive myself
Not raising my hand to hold
But it is too late...
They’ll be returning nevermore
Will their choirs ever be heard again
Will the strongest of mankind ever fight again
Or will all be kept in silence
The ruining of kingdoms, into this darkness of time
Hear me ...who will follow their wake
Their future is like in my fearful dreams
Deserted by each and everyone ..and all..
All has fallen into silence
A memory forever
I want to honour their vows,
Hear their hymns, not only remembering
The ones of this lost paradise
That lies beneath these strong waves
But it is too late...
They’ll be returning nevermore
I would raise them up from the sea,
Upon the shores of earth
Preserving their ancient lore.
Bring harmony to the world.
And restoring all that has been done
Take away the pain
But it is too late ..all too late...
Yesteryear withers and long ago fades away
They’ll be returning nevermore
